THRILL THE WORLD — “Uniting the World through dance!”

What is Thrill The World?

Thrill the World is an annual international dance event and world record breaking attempt, in which participants simultaneously emulate the zombie dance seen in the music video of Michael Jackson’s “Thriller”, and the title of the event is an allusion to another of Jackson’s songs, Heal the World. It is a tribute to Michael Jackson since 2006.

The event was initially started out as a “cool idea” that came to fruition after a group of 62 zombies set a Guinness World Records in 2006 for the “Largest Thriller Dance” in one location in Toronto,  Canada. The event—part-charity fundraiser, part-world record attempt—evolved into Thrill the World, one of the world’s largest worldwide attention. Since  it has exploded in to an international dance phenomenon across the world, it has grown in thousands and thousands of participants and spread to six continents!  Ines Markeljevic, the Founder & Creator of TTW aimed to “Unite the World through Dance”.

How It Works?

People in cities around the world dance to “Thriller” at exactly the same time!  Preparation and counting down worldwide is part of the fun but the feeling of being connected to others and dancing together as one is a Thrill like no other!  Celebrating the truly inspirational genius of Michael Jackson in a living and moving way — is what keeps people coming back year after year.

This dance is for EVERYBODY   – all nationalities, faiths, creeds and abilities. Whether you are young or old, a professional dancer, or a complete beginner, we WANT YOU! You can adjust the routine to your own level — work up a major sweat or just take it easy. Dancing is a great way to achieve all round fitness and wellbeing, physically and mentally.  Taking part is all about achieving your best – as Michael continues to inspire the world to do.

The Philippines returns this year to participate the world Thriller dance with two Thrill performances this time. This entertaining worldwide dance for world-record is scheduled on Saturday, October 29th, 2011, at 11am and 11pm, (Manila time) at the Venice Piazza Mall, McKinley Hills, Fort Bonifacio, Taguig.

Learning the Dance

It’s not too late to learn the dance! We all use the same choreography based on the music video. Dancing is fun way to keep fit, and it’s a great workout!  No treadmills, no weights, just music and movement! Just let the music take you and then let your body move. It’s about feeling the music. It gets deep inside then your feet just have to move.

Ø We have in-house scheduled Thriller dance workshops, we will keep you updated!

Ø It is also held at various locations prior to the event in order for everyone to properly learn the “official” version of the dance. Because we want youth from schools, churches and other clubs to participate, we are recruiting qualified dance instructors who will be happy to come to your building for a pre-scheduled Thriller Dance Workshop.

Ø We would encourage the school spirit/dance team or cheerleading squad to take on learning the dance as a small group and then teaching the rest of the interested students at their school.

Ø We have  “Learn the Dance” link on our website that guides you through each step. These free, easy-to-follow YouTube videos can be projected right from your computer on a screen or wall and you can learn the dance as a group – even without a professional instructor! You’ll realize it’s surprisingly easy!

Why do we dance?

Michael Jackson was all about giving back. We are dancing to give back something to make a difference. We are here to continue the World Record Philanthropist and ceaseless Humanitarian, Michael Jackson’s honorable actions and advocacy on children, animals and environment.  This is a “World Fun-Dance ” fundraising event to finance our three charities;
