Surely, you didn’t see the Xtatic Dance crew coming when they came up top in the 2007 Battlegrounds in Melbourne, Australia [check it out here]. Two Words, Groove Manila. “GROOVE Manila is the first GROOVE International dance battle outside of Australia. Their purpose is to build relationships and camaraderie between all aspiring dancers and hiphop fans in the Philippines. They aim to reach out to every Filipino youth through GROOVE. For more information about the event, check out the official GROOVE website”; [source]

In the Middle: Gojie

Check the intro out to this new segment. We found Gojie when we’re randomly looking for local talents in our country. We’re not trying to be a fan boy here (lol). Dance Manila is first amazed on his laid-back choreography when we stumble upon his channel. We have two of his laid back choreography here performed by him and his boys (and girls). Enjoy!

In The Middle : an intro

September 15, 2008 2 comments

Everyone knows how small the Hip Hop/Dance Industry is in our country (Philippines). And everyone has a fair share of which crew or which people are which. Dance Manila is launching a new segment in our blog called – In the Middle. “In The Middle”-articles gives the spotlight on amazingly talented dancers/choreographers in our country. This will be in our routine of postings so do give back a hit from time to time. In the Middle aims to help everyone get to know local talents and hopefully inspiring others along the way. Dance Manila is going to try this experiment out and try out at the very least – an artist – a week. Hopefully, you guys back us up! Just like dancing – stay calm and in the middle of the crowd, you drop bomb!

September 15, 2008 1 comment

I couldn’t believe how popular the September 11, 2008 Streetboys can really rock it! post. And never did I imagined a lot of people would actually still go and look it up in search engines. I guess that’s how amazing these men are. They are still as good as they were when they started and so without further adeu[sp?] here’s some more Streetboys Videos paired with six buckets of nostalgia.
